Importing Characters from Character Builder

I have tried to use this option several times, but it always fails. I can't seem to find any documentation on how to do this, so I might just be doing it wrong. How do I use this feature? For now, I've just been using a generically formatted character XML template and hand editing a limited amount of character data for each party member.

Some clarifications

Here is some basic information:

  1. Use Compendium > Import Character Builder Files
  2. Select a .dnd4e files;
  3. To view the imported character go to Compendium > View Entries then select the Character radio button.

Some comments:

  • You should use the latest version of the Character Builder. Some older formats will not load correctly.
  • Only the basic information is imported, I do wish to add more things, but not for the time being (feel free to add a feature request).

Of course I'm under the impression that you did this, if all this fails please attach a character file that is no working and your vcc.log and launch.log.
