64 Bit Support

I had posted several feature requests using the forms. But I'm having a technical difficulty. It won't run on my desktop machine although it works fine on my laptop. My desktop is 64 bit vista. Will it work on 64 bit? I had recently installed Java for Map Tools and it works fine.

I reinstalled Java using the
I reinstalled Java using the link provided on this site and VCC worked. I wonder how the Java is different than the one used by Map Tools.
Anyway, please disregard my 64 bit question.
Problem must be caused by mixing 32 and 64 bits libraries
My understanding it that all the libraries in VCC are 32-bit. If you have a 64-bit java installed, this causes problems with the library. I'll see it I can get a 64-bit system to test this and see how to package this correctly. The 32-bit java does the trick and you can have multiple version on the machine. But I think this deserves some effort. I'll try to investigate this further.
For the time being I believe the work-around is: Install and use a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment. If other people run into this let me know.
I am running into this problem.
Installing the 32 bit version of Java didn't fix my issue. To complicate things, I am running Windows 7...
any ideas? I could help you figure out Windows 7 support if you need.
Got it to work
So... I finally got it to work. For me the trick was not only to install the 32 bit version, but also the 64 bit version. Basically once I had both versions downloaded I could get it to work. The other part of it was that I had updated the program by downloading the update and extracting it by hand. This too may have caused issues. Once I had gone back to the .95 version, I was able to launch the program and update it from within.
thanks. I have some initial feedback that I am going to write in a few minutes, but I will start a new thread for that.
Please open a bug report
I'm not sure how to test this. But the we should take a look at mixed Java and Scala 32 and 64 bits. Open the bug report and add any log you have with this.
Just as an aside, I have run
Just as an aside, I have run all versions from .90 onwards on Vista ultimate 64bit with no problems ever.
