Multi-Function Display
I have been considering how to improve input functionality of VCC. The current strategy is using too much space. My original idea was to move to a keyboard based menu. But I kind of like the easy of use that comes from clicking on buttons, and some users have been using VCC with tablets. So I need a new input systems that will use either keyboard or pointer device. Thanks when I remembered my jet fighter simulation days.
On modern airplanes a Multi Function Display is used to allow a lot of different information to be placed on the same space, sharing the same buttons. The idea is to have a single area that can display several types of information and can be driven either by clicking or keyboard input. It could handle several type of input, such as:
- Damage of : 12 + 5 necrotic
- Effect: Slowed Save end, save fail: Unconscious Save Ends
- Target: A, 1, 3, 4, D (multiple target for an effects)
- Next up: to select from a list of delaying character or the next on up.
This will take some time. I'll try to update this with some concept screen shots.
