Considerations on Open Source VCC

I have been giving some careful consideration on what should be the open source license for Virtual Combat Cards, not only that how to share the code and progress with the development. I would like input from anyone with experience in this things. This I intend to release in a week or two, so please be quick.
Base on my investigations I am strongly inclined to the following:
- VCC should be released under GPL. This will make it easy for people to contribute while avoiding a take-over by some company or group of developers. I have no intention of selling VCC, this is a project of love for RPG and a need to code.
- Project will be hosted on SVN at GoogleCode. I like the idea of Mercurial support, but I currently have little time to dedicate to the get to know Mercurial. Apparently it should be straight forward to migrate in the future.
- Issue tracking and download stays at Ex Nebula site for the time being. Current VCC update strategy is building on the Drupal project module.
- I have create a Google Groups for development discussion. While Forums are nice for user input, email discussion lists can be more interactive. You can join it here: http://groups.google.com/group/vcc-dev.
You opinion is important, in particular on the license issue. If you like VCC you can help in several ways on the development effort:
- Testing and feedback (even if you don’t code);
- If you program in Scala or want to learn it, feel free to help out with coding;
- If you program in Java, specially Swing, you can help out improve by contributing with some code in Java since Scala integrates very well with Java;
- If you are a programmer in any language ideas on how to handle and model certain aspects are always welcome;
