VCC Usage
Swapping Custom Monsters Between Computers
Very simple question. I currently have two copies of VCC - desktop and netbook. One machine runs Win 7 64 and the other Win 7 32. I made a ton of custom monsters for a game and now I want to transfer them to the VCC on my netbook. Where are the custom monsters stored?
Said monsters were done by copying and then editing an existing entry.
Custom Traps
So I'm just starting to use the VCC, and so far I'm really impressed.
However I was trying to enter a modified version of a trap (Lidded-Eye Obelisk if you're interested) and when I choose the "New Entry" function there are options for new Monsters & Characters.
I chose Monster and the customized trap is now listing in the Compendium under Monsters. While not a huge problem, I'd like it to be listed under Traps.
Did I miss something?
Uninstall? Custom database directory?
Is there a way to uninstall VCC? I mainly ask so as I can do a fresh install. Everytime I try to reinstall in used the config from the old files.
Also is it possible to configure a custom directory for our captured content? Right now it configures a specific path, but it would be neat if we could use a relative path or at the least choose our own location.
Print Stat Cards
Is there an easy was to print the stat cards for the monsters, or at least copy and past the html so that I can past and print them out. I can get to the stat black from viewing the Compendium Entries, but again am looking to make it so I can print out the nice look stat blocks. I suspect if I new enough about styles and html I could copy and past from the edit monster compendium entries, but since I know nothing about css styles, I would need some assistants in getting the css styles to match the ddi. Thanks Doc.
Loading the program on Windows Vista
I have been trying to run the program on my windows vista computer and it doesn't run? I downloaded the java SE and it didn't help any clues?
Great program - two questions
This is a really fantastic program. I'm on a Mac, and having something platform-independent is so refreshing. The ability to important monsters means I can now leave my Parallels boot behind while running games, as I can store monster statistics in VCC.
I have two questions:
1.) Is it possible to remove the buttons the Firefox addon puts on the Firefox bar? The keyboard shortcut works well, and (for my use at least) it's nice to not clutter my bookmarks bar.
Problem importing a monster
Recently purchased Tomb of Horrors and as I haven't used VCC 'in anger' yet decided to begin getting the required monsters.
I wasn't very far in when I tried to import the Will-o'-Wisp Slave. The capture failed, with the sidebar information as follows:
Entry: Failed capture of 'monster' with id=5188
Status: Error
Is this a VCC problem or a D&D format problem? Is there another way I can get the monster into my compendium?
Many thanks
Configuration of user data location
Well, I've been using VCC for over one year now. It's the only software that I've been able to trust will work every time at the game table. The last time I took it to the next level and started using all the effect tracking (I normally do this with Alea tools markers). It seemed to work really well.
Importing Characters from Character Builder
I have tried to use this option several times, but it always fails. I can't seem to find any documentation on how to do this, so I might just be doing it wrong. How do I use this feature? For now, I've just been using a generically formatted character XML template and hand editing a limited amount of character data for each party member.
Best Way to Enter Custom Monsters?
What is the best way to enter custom monsters? I'm guessing the answer is to import something similar from D&DI, rename, and then hand edit until it is right. Is this correct? Also how do I control the burst, ranged, melee, etc symbols on powers? I must be overlooking something because I'm not seeing it yet.
Thanks for the wonderful tool. I really like the 1+ versions. I've been successfully using VCC for 9 months now. It really improves the play experience. If only Wizards was half as talented. :)
